A New Student Environment Network
Are you a student? Interested in environmental action? There are loads of students out there working on (or wanting to work on) environmental issues and campaigns, but not enough communication between them. There's also a lack of national or mutual support specifically aimed at students and student groups (except for People and Planet, who, whilst doing some excellent work, tend to focus most of their resources into their own national campaigns). Do you like the idea of a national grassroots network of student environmental activists? Then join read on!
A bunch of Manchester students (plus one or two hangers-on) have decided to kick-start a new national organisation. So far they have found loads of interest from green groups, student officers and individual students around the UK in setting up some kind of national member-run network, so the next step is to try to bring them all together.
To get involved, find out more, or just go on the email list to watch things develop, please email [email protected], or look for their stall/meeting at People & Planet's "Shared Planet" conference in Warwick on November 2nd!
