Over 200 people braved the rain, hail and wind to walk and cycle along the newly opened 'Fallowfield Loop' on Sunday 28 April. The sun came out from behind the clouds at intervals, notably at the start when the red ribbon was cut and everyone started off on this historic occasion (the day after the anniversary of the Kinder mass tresspass!) from Fallowfield towards Chorlton, for the refreshments and reception at Oakwood High School. SUSTRANS boss John Grimshaw was there, as was Paul Osbourne, Safe Routes to school coordinator - both impressed by the local community turnout for what will be Britain's longest 'urban greenway'.
We still need your support - there are still issues to pursue, like the present closure of the tunnel under Wilmslow Road, which forces users up and across this busy road.
