Digital Diaries

fantastic offer to anti-deportation campaigns!

Exodus is an arts project developing refugee arts across Greater Manchester. The highlight is the Exodus Refugee festival in June this year. One part of Exodus is the Digital Diaries project, which involves CAN, the National Coalition of Anti-Deportation campaigns, the Basement, and other refugee groups.

Do you have a story that needs to be told? Or can you help others tell that story A brilliant thing for anti-deportation campaigns! Are you interested in learning video, photography, web or other media skills?

We will:

• provide weekly workshops: training/hands-on support - using photography, sound, video, Internet to tell your story
• go out and make short films; including personal accounts, interviews with refugees and asylum seekers
• put this material on a DVD and the Internet - to be hosted on the projects Digital Diaries website
• make video available for a screening during the Exodus festival

These Saturday Sessions will take place at 'The Basement' bookshop, 24 Lever St, in the Northern Quarter. We will use CAN digital Media Lab for some of the training. The time: 2pm-5pm every Saturday (16 April - 11 June).
