For those who don't have a problem with petrochemical companies, the current funding programme of the Shell Better Britain Campaign is to close on 31st December. There will be a new version launched in the new year - suggestions for this are currently welcome. The Royal Society for Nature Conservation and the New Opportunities Fund are running a new programme "Transforming Waste", bringing £35 million of Lottery money to projects promoting recycling, reuse or composting. Individual local projects that apply for funding must set out to expand community sector waste reuse, recycling or composting and will need to show that they will promote the key aims and objectives of local waste strategies and help local authorities meet their recycling targets.
"Transforming Waste" is part of the larger "Transforming Communities" project, which also includes "Transforming Your Space" and "Renewable Energy" programmes.
